About Us – Authentic Japanese Craftsmanship
Konnichiwa Okyakusama!
We are Seiko and Patrick.

Kasumiya – this logo is more than just a symbol; it is a promise of carefully selected quality from Japan. “Kasumiya – Japanese Craftsmanship” combines tradition, aesthetics and authenticity. The kanji in the center stands for mist (kasumi), which in Japan is seen as a symbol of beauty, tranquility and transience. Perfect for everyone who lives and loves Japanese culture.
Are you passionate about Japanese culture, a professional chef looking for the right knife, putting together your next summer outfit, or simply searching for an original Japanese gift? Then your search ends here!
We place great importance on the authenticity of our products. We often select and purchase them personally for you during our stays in Japan. Alternatively, we source them through our family in Nagoya, who have been working in the antiques trade for many years.
However, you won’t find mass-produced goods here. We offer exclusive one-of-a-kind pieces, unique items, artisan crafts and small series that you will usually only find with us. This way, you can be sure to receive your authentic piece of Japan, and at the same time we support ancient craft traditions and small workshops and artist studios in one of the most fascinating countries in the world.
At Kasumiya you will find everything you need for a Japanese lifestyle. We invite you to explore our Japanese clothing section and wear a real kimono or yukata. Our outfits are suitable for various occasions, such as summer festivals, Japan Day or cosplay. We always strive to delight our customers with our costumes, and since a kimono alone is far from a complete outfit, we naturally offer all the necessary accessories such as obi, obijime, seta, kinchaku, etc.
Is there a connection between Japanese cuisine and you?
We invite you to enjoy our unique collection of tableware made in Japan in your own home. Our range includes ramen bowls, sushi sets, bento boxes and Japanese chopsticks. In the kitchen, traditional Japanese kitchen knives made from the finest steel are used.
Treat yourself to a break and enjoy a cup of matcha tea or a sake with your friends.
In addition, we offer carefully selected utensils for the traditional tea ceremony.
Are you planning to change your living space? We would like to draw your attention to our range of Japanese décor. It is a wonderful idea to hang a curtain or a traditional scroll in a prominent place or to place a maneki neko by the entrance. The possibilities are endless. With Japanese design elements, your home gains a very special atmosphere.
In Japan, special emphasis is placed on customer satisfaction, and your feedback is crucial for the continuous improvement of our products and services. We truly appreciate your feedback, whether as constructive criticism or praise. Only in this way can we constantly improve our offering.
We hope that we will soon become your “favorite Japanese store”.
In the meantime, we wish you lots of fun shopping, discovering, browsing and dreaming with Kasumiya.
